Alexander W. Monroe had many different haircuts during his lifetime. He reached fame as an outstanding lawyer, politician and teacher. However, the American schoolteacher, farmer, lawyer, surveyor, military officer, politician, newspaper editor and newspaper publisher, Confederate States Army officer, and Speaker of the West Virginia House of Delegates was mainly known for his incomparable sense of fashion and his adorable personality.
